The wood and materials we work with.

Our primary material is solid wood — five species, each for its own use. Alongside these we work with veneers, laminates, composite stone, glass, and premium hardware from trusted European brands.

Wood species

Five species, one workshop.

Material · N°01

Oak

Quercus robur

Oak (Quercus robur) has been our workshop's primary material since day one. Its strength, density, and pronounced grain make it suitable for almost any project — from kitchen worktops to entrance doors and staircases. Properly cared for, an oak piece serves generations.

Walnut

Juglans regia

Walnut (Juglans regia) is among the most refined of European timbers. Its deep brown tone, fine grain, and gentle texture make it the wood of choice where aesthetics are the priority — from elegant dining tables to classical study libraries. Walnut rewards high-quality finishing and careful maintenance with a piece that only gains in beauty over the decades.

Ash

Fraxinus excelsior

Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is among the most flexible of European timbers — its ability to take load without breaking makes it the first choice for projects involving steam-bent details: chair backs, table legs, handles. Ash's light tone and even grain also sit beautifully in contemporary interiors that prefer to move away from oak's pronounced figure.

Birch

Betula pendula

Birch (Betula pendula) is the local timber of Latvia and the wider Baltic region. Its even grain, pale tone, and moderate price make birch furniture a natural choice for everyday projects — from children's-room furniture to cost-conscious bedroom carcasses. It is also ecologically sound, as we source it from local suppliers.

Pine

Pinus sylvestris

Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is the traditional softwood of Latvia and Northern Europe. Its warm, resinous tone and ease of working make it the choice for country interiors, summer houses, and cost-conscious projects. For a pine piece to last, the finish is decisive — traditionally a wax or a natural oil that lifts the wood's figure.

Materials beyond solid wood

A complex project calls for a complex palette of materials.

Veneers and laminates

For parts where solid wood is not functionally optimal — internal structures, wide panels, cost-conscious builds.

Composite stone

Silestone, Dekton, Caesarstone — for kitchen and bank worktops that take heavy heat loads.

Glass

Safety and laminated glass — in vitrines, partitions, staircases. With timber or metal frames.

Steel sub-frames

For staircases and complex builds — welded and primed in our workshop or in partnership.

Hardware and finish

Only trusted brands — which is why we can offer a 24-month warranty.

Mechanical hardware

Drawer runners and sliding mechanisms
Blum, Hettich
Hinges and locking systems
Grass, Häfele

Wood finish

Natural oils and waxes (food-safe)
Osmo, Rubio Monocoat, Treatex
Water-based lacquers
Sikkens, Sayerlack
